These students are learning about the carbon dioxide-oxygen cycle.  The solution they are using changes color to indicate the presence of carbon dioxide. They are observing how their breath changes it, and then adding pond snails and aquatic plants to this solution.  The plants we put under lights so that they will be photosynthesizing.  We'll observe any changes in the morning.  We wore goggles to practice good lab procedure.
