These students are learning more about the diet (and prey) of barn owls.  They are identifying and classifying bones that they found in their owl pellets.  To identify species, they needed to measure mandibles and use magnifiers to observe teeth.  They also learned about structural features such as the zygomatic arch and the diastema.  They don't know it, but this is also an introduction to food webs.
