These students are observing the results of the carbon dioxide-oxygen cycle experiment.  The solutions have changed color. The snails changed the color to green indicating that they gave off carbon dioxide. The plants changed the color to blue indicating  that  they took in carbon dioxide.
We are also extending this experiment to find out what will happen if the plants do not receive light.  They are preparing a control vial of the solution for comparison, and then wrapping both vials in aluminum foil so that they will not receive light.
