Sharing Their Work

These students are learning about legends and symbols.
In the previous lesson, they searched for the symbol for wetlands on a map of the United States and identified states where they found this symbol. They looked at the legends in their atlas and observed the different symbols.  They looked at various maps in their atlas.
Today, they imagined the characteristics of their pumpkin globes.  They created symbols for the various features that they imagined and made legends to show their symbols and tell what their symbols represent.  Then, they added the symbols to the continents of their pumpkin globes to show its features.
