These students are learning about maps of the
world.
They first compared world maps with globes. They
drew pictures of Antarctica as is it is shown on a globe and then as it is
shown on a map. They compared different types of map projections.
They learned to identify important lines of latitude and longitude (and they
regions those lines define) on a world map.
In the next lesson, they'll learn to
identify directions on world maps,
and they'll attempt to make world maps of their pumpkin
globes. |
