Sound Transmission 1
Sound Transmission 2

These students are trying to determine the best transmitters of sound.  They are comparing hard and soft materials.
Before beginning, they needed to make sure they had 30 centimeters of each material, and they needed to think about what they've observed and formulate a hypotheses.  Then they needed to experiment, record observations, and make a conclusion.
This activity also provides the opportunity for students to begin thinking about controlling variables.
